What we were asked to do
White Label worked with the Whitgift Foundation to develop an initiative to celebrate and positively promote the organisation's local community support in the wake of recent negative publicity. In a relatively short period, the concept of a Heritage Festival was developed. This involved the development of a unique creative brand which was used across multiple platforms and cross-community engagement in a three week cultural festival which saw more than 50 events staged across the borough for the inaugural 2013 Festival. In 2014 the Whitgift Foundation again approached us to support the Festival.
How we did it
Following on from the success of the previous year we fine tuned and improved the concept of the Heritage Festival based on the feedback received. This involved the further development of the unique brand which was again used across multiple platforms.
And the results speak for themselves
The brand engaged more than previous years 250 local organisations. A three-week cultural festival re-energised the borough's connection with its past and effectively strengthened the Whitgift Foundation as a community support organisation with long-standing support of Croydon.
The festival is now firmly embedded in Croydon's annual events calendar. To find out more about it, you can visit the website: www.croydonheritagefestival.co.uk
