What we were asked to do
Our task was to promote the opening of the new £20million East Croydon footbridge, an interchange between platforms and the town's business district and retail areas, and an example of an innovative partnership between London Borough of Croydon and developers/landowners.
How we did it
We organised Croydon Celebrates, a spectacular street festival to celebrate the bridge's opening.
And the results speak for themselves
Thousands of commuters and visitors came along to enjoy street theatre, market stalls, street food and dynamic lighting, in adjacent Ruskin Square and along Lansdowne Road, which was closed for the event.
What our clients said
"Wow! What an opening! Thank you all for your help and contribution in making yesterday a success. A huge well done and thank you to Katharine, Rose, Eleanor and the White Label team for organising the events – especially within the tight timescales. A great turnout for the street festival - I know there were some really positive comments from the public and I spoke to a number of stallholders and they all said it was worthwhile! I really enjoyed it… the fireworks, entertainment, drinks and food."
Rhowena Rubio, Corporate Public Relations Officer, London Borough of Croydon
"Many thanks for organising the event - we really enjoyed it."
Stuart Davies, Project Manager/Bridge Engineer, Mott MacDonald
"Great event! The link works like it was always there and the Christmas market was a success."
