What we were asked to do
Croydon Council wanted to celebrate the re-opening of 123-year-old Wandle Park. Under a £3.5million transformation, the River Wandle had been returned to the surface for the first time in 40 years, a water-fountain restored and a new bandstand, skate-park, open-air gym, pavilion and community garden had all been constructed.
How we did it
We organised a community extravaganza - a day by the river which included some 50 stalls and stages, providing a wealth of entertainment for the crowds. Local real ale was served up by Croydon's Cronx Brewery. Talent on the main stage included local Celtic folk favourites, Homebrood, and Hipsinc's bellydancing performance.
And the results speak for themselves
More than 7,000 people visited Wandle Park for the event.
